James Rochford is a funny guy. As The Professor, he rose to prominence in 2016 thanks to his hilariously funny weekly segment on Monday Night with Matty Johns, Not the NRL News. After graduating from Macquarie University with a Bachelor in Media and Communications in 2001, James started his career at FOX SPORTS as an Associate Producer on Rugby Union and Golf. In 2007, he moved to Channel Nine to work as a Comedy Producer on The Footy Show. While there, he was the driving force behind the popular weekly segment Beau Knows with Beau Ryan. He returned to FOX SPORTS in 2012 to work on Monday Night with Matty Johns. In 2013 he began producing the new Fletch & Hindy segment for Monday Night with Matty Johns which has become FOX SPORTS’ most popular entertainment show segment. In 2016, under the pseudonym of The Professor, James started presenting Not the NRL News on the same show which has become somewhat of a cult favourite. The Professor got his own show in 2017. The Professor’s Second Year Syndrome aired straight after Friday Night Footy, while Not the NRL News moved to Thursday nights to be part of the all-new, The Late Show with Matty Johns.
